Classroom Expectations
Rules for daily conduct:
1. Be prepared to learn when the bell rings. (In your seats with materials handy)
(Collateral for pens/pencils)
2. Listen and follow directions the 1st time given. Be respectful!
3. We love people getting involved in class discussions, but RAISE YOUR HAND!!! All comments and questions should be appropriate to class discussions.
4. There will be NO EATING in the classroom.
5. No graffiti on the desks, Lab stations, etc.
6. No wandering around during Lab or after work is complete, etc.
7. If finished early; look at checklist to complete chapter work!!
8. Do not ask questions about grades, test, etc, during class or just prior to class. Come after/before school, or during office Block 3
9. Keep your area clean (push in chairs, clean lab station, etc.)
10. Look at whomever is giving directions
Cell Phones:
There will be no cell phones permitted unless otherwise directed by teacher.
Absent Work
1. YOU are responsible for any Labs, Test, Notes, and Homework missed during an excused absence. Come during block 4-B in room #2305.
2. I will have daily assignments on the side blackboard and online for students who were absent.
3. Anything collected or due on the day of your absence will be due upon your return. All work is online see: ‘Hoblitzellsciencespot.weebly.com’
4. If you are absent the day of the test you will make it up the day of your triumphant return during your Block 4-B in room #2305.
5. If you are absent the day before the test YOU WILL STILL TAKE the test on the day it was assigned.
6. If there are extreme circumstances to prevent you from taking a test please see teacher prior to the test/quiz.
Late Work:
All assignments are expected to be turned in on the due date. It is unfair to students who complete assignments on time to give extended time to students who do not. Due to block scheduling you will have two days to make-up an assignment, so if an assignment is one day late you will earn a 70%. Nothing will be accepted after that time period.
Note: Do not come at the end of the marking period and beg for additional time for old assignments to be completed, as they have no educational value at that point and will not be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Cheating:
Cheating can come in many forms! Copying homework or lab report is considered cheating. Any student involved (including the person being copied from) will receive a zero for that assignment. A second offense will result in taking other administrative measures.
Grading Policy:
Each assignment is worth a certain number of points. At the end of the marking period, these are added up, and divided by the total possible points. There will be occasional opportunities for extra credit. Progress reports will be printed out from time to time for your information. You can also check your progress at any time on Parent Portal; I try to post grades within one week of due dates.
The grade that you receive is the grade that you EARN. There are many chances to accumulate points in this class and it is up to you to get as many as you can. If you should be a “poor test taker”, then make sure that all of your homework assignments are completed and that you participate in class.
Lateness to Class: (See student handbook)
Required materials:
1. Pen/Pencil if you forget one you may purchase one for $0.25 ($ goes to Environmental Club)
If you need extra help just ask! That is what I am here for! If a student wants/needs to review a topic, make-up a test, I am available everyday during the Block 4-B in room #2305.
After you have read the attached course syllabus, please sign below indicating that you understand the rules, policies, and information on all handouts and agree to comply with them. Return this signature page completely filled out and signed.
I have read this document and understand the rules, policies, and procedures of Mr. Wilson’s class.
